Compliance and Investigations
The members of the Firm are aware of the importance of our clients' compliance with Mexican regulations, which are constantly evolving and growing, as well as the international regulations that may apply due to their cross-border operations.
In that regard, through our Compliance and Investigations practice, we provide timely advice to our clients to ensure they remain in compliance with their different obligations in regulatory matters, as well as to represent them in cases in which the Mexican authorities initiate investigations against them for potential violations of the laws and regulations, whether general or special, which may be applicable according to their operations
Our lawyers provide a comprehensive advice to clients who participate in multiple industries, in the design and implementation of their compliance policies and training in anti-corruption, money laundering prevention and financing of terrorism (AML/CFT), personal data or privacy protection, antitrust, labor, urban development, health services, environment, energy, foreign trade, among others.
We also offer our clients the legal support that may be required to carry out and document internal investigations in the aforementioned areas.
In anti-corruption matters, together with our national and international clients, we design their integrity policies, including their codes of conduct, anti-corruption policies, organization and procedures manual, control and surveillance systems, whistleblower reporting systems, as well as in the adaptation of their global policies under the FCPA, the UK Bribery Act and similar regulations.
In terms of data protection, we help our clients to achieve compliance with the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares), preparing and training our clients in the implementation of data protection policies, including privacy notices, internal policies for the processing of personal data, data breaches policies, cybersecurity, privacy impact assessments, among others.
